Silver Rice is proud to be the creator of Rice Cups — the first restaurant to offer its customers this unique sushi experience.
Since opening in March 2014, the Silver Rice Cup has been our signature: seasoned sushi rice layered in a cup, piled with fish and toppings, built to move the way Brooklyn moves. No tray. No table required. A cup and a fork.
Every cup — and every roll and bowl — comes with your choice of classic white sushi rice or our house-developed flaxseed rice, milled with ground flaxseed for a nuttier, healthier grain.

Hideki & Sonny
Silver Rice is run by Hideki and Sonny — longtime friends from Nagoya, Japan, who first met over free pizza at a hostel in Chelsea. That accidental dinner turned into a friendship, and the friendship turned into a sushi shop.
In March 2014 they opened Silver Rice in Crown Heights: a made-to-order sushi counter built around one simple belief — good food needs love. A second shop in Lefferts Gardens followed.
Ten-plus years later, we’re still rolling every order when you place it, one cup and one roll at a time.
Weekend Eat-In — Crown Heights only
Most of the week we’re built for takeout — sushi that travels. But on weekend evenings, our Crown Heights shop sets the counter for eating in: warm miso soups, made-to-order rolls, and something from the sake shelf.
